Fuji Seal Europe today announced the appointment of Marieke Sauer-Ploegmakers as Managing Director of Fuji Seal Europe. She takes over the position from Global Chief Operating Officer Yoichi Okazaki, who will henceforth focus entirely on the Group’s global priorities and its long-term growth.
In her new role, Marieke will lead the European business and be responsible for regional strategy, business development, and operational stability at Fuji Seal Europe. She assumes the position of Managing Director in addition to her current duties as Global CHRO and Executive Officer.
Marieke has been with Fuji Seal for more than 12 years and has held various senior roles in HR and business leadership during that time. She has played a key role in supporting teams across Europe and driving transformation initiatives in line with the company’s long-term strategy.
Yoichi has been part of the Fuji Seal Group for 13 years and has experience in production, site planning, mechanical engineering leadership, and corporate planning in Japan and Europe.
“I am very grateful for the trust and support of our teams across Europe,” said Marieke Sauer-Ploegmakers. “My focus is on ensuring that we continue to deliver for our customers, strengthen collaboration in the region, and build on the solid foundations already in place.”
Yoichi Okazaki added: “Marieke’s appointment underscores the strength of our European organization and the importance of clear, regional leadership in day-to-day operations. While Marieke now leads the European business, I will focus on group-wide priorities that support our long-term growth, global orientation, and our business and sustainability goals.”
This structure creates clear leadership lines in Europe for customers, partners, and employees, while ensuring that Fuji Seal Europe remains aligned with the Group’s long-term plans.
