The countdown is on for the opening of Zoomark, the 21st edition of the international trade show dedicated to pet food and pet care, taking place from 5th to 7th May 2025 at BolognaFiere. In the lead-up to the event, the finalists for the Pet Vision Awards and the NEXT Award for Pet Innovators 2025 have been revealed. These acknowledgements celebrate the most innovative products on display.
The two award ceremonies will take place on Tuesday 6th May in Hall 16 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm on the Innovation Corner stage.
Pet Vision: Finalists of the 4 Megatrends
A panel of qualified judges, made up of international journalists specialising in the pet sector, has selected the products and services showcased at Zoomark 2025 that stand out the most for their alignment with each of the four megatrends shaping the future of the pet market, as well as for their innovative value.
Here are the finalists for each megatrend:
Within the Value for Money category, representing products and services offering outstanding quality at a competitive price:
- Smart pet electronics - Automatic cat litter box: the smart self-cleaning cat litter box that can be managed remotely through an app (Zhejiang Beijing Technology Co., Ltd.).
- Crunchy Cup Snacks: a range of tasty dog and cat treats with functional benefits in a convenient CUP format (Zolux Italia Srl).
- VisioFocus Animal: the infrared, contactless thermometer that allows pet temperature measurement directly from the eye (Tecnimed S.r.l.).
Among the products and services that stand out for environmental sustainability and social responsibility, in the Green Transition category:
- Lunch Boxes for Dogs & Cats: range of pet food presented in an original 100% recyclable lunch box, free from composite materials, combining environmental sustainability, ease of use, and optimal food preservation (Viozois Sa).
- PE MET Recyclable Mono Material Bags: innovative packaging material offering high barrier protection against light, oxygen, and moisture (Tyler Packaging Ltd).
- Vegan Urban: a line of harnesses, collars, and leashes made from Apple Skin™, an eco-sustainable plant-based leather produced by recycling apple processing waste (Pupakiotti).
For the Brain & Health category, which includes products that support pets’ physical and mental wellbeing by stimulating cognitive and behavioural development:
- Easy Ride: a hands-free dog harness offering a practical, functional, and safe solution for everyday walks (Zolux Italia Srl).
- Natsbi Steamed Dog: recipes made with 85–90% meat or fish, steam-cooked to preserve nutrients, requiring no refrigeration or freezing (Gosbi Pet Food).
- VezerCare: a honey-based ointment combining spruce resin and local honey for antibacterial, regenerative, and healing effects, suitable for all pets (Vezer OY).
Lastly, competing for the top spot within the Mini Mania megatrend—dedicated to products and services designed to meet the specific needs of small pets:
- Fresh Mini Meatballs: complete food for small dogs, shaped as mini meatballs, made with fresh meat and slow-cooked ingredients (Arquivet Slu).
- Linea Fieni: a range of natural hay and snacks for rodents and small animals, made from sun-dried hay and plant-based ingredients, supporting nutrition, dental hygiene, and behavioral stimulation (Mantovani Pet Diffusion Srl).
- Naturefood Collagen Rope Kip S: a small-sized chew rope snack made with rawhide collagen, ideal for small breed dogs (Dayes Bv).
The awards ceremony announcing the winners of the second edition of the Pet Vision Awards will take place on Tuesday 6th May at 16:00 on the Innovation Corner stage, Hall 16, with special guest and honourary host Paola Cane.
NEXT Award for Pet Innovators: The first prize dedicated to pet tech and business innovation
This year at Zoomark, the NEXT Award will be presented for the first time, aimed at recognising and promoting the most innovative start-up in the pet industry.
An expert jury has selected four finalists who will deliver a live pitch in front of the panel for the final vote:
- Carepet (Domethics): a smart pet bed that monitors vital signs such as heart rate, breathing, and sleep quality, along with environmental conditions in real time through a dedicated app.
- Eco Impronta: sustainable, handcrafted dog accessories manufactured using natural, eco-friendly materials like cork and Tencel™ (renewable, plant-based fibers).
- Fido AI (Pet Sprint): the first smart health assistant for dogs, offering an intuitive interface and personalized answers powered by conversational AI.
- MyVet: start-up that has developed a digital identity for pets, linked to their health records and accessible through apps for pet parents and vets.
On Tuesday 6 May, from 4:30pm at the Innovation Corner in Hall 16, the official announcement of the NEXT Award for Pet Innovators winner will take place live, along with the presentation of the exclusive first prize offered by Daehne Verlag Publisher of the trade magazines PET and PET Worldwide.
