LATAM Series – A Look at a Dynamic Market in Transition

With our LATAM series, we turn our attention to one of the most exciting and at the same time most complex regions of the global pet food and packaging industry: Latin America. Between economic volatility, growing consumer demand, and structural transformation, markets are emerging here that are evolving rapidly – while also being shaped by significant regional differences.

The series already begins with our lead article and an interview, both of which provide context for key developments in the region and offer initial perspectives from industry practice. In the coming weeks, the series will gradually expand: with in-depth market and consumer data, additional country analyses, and further voices from industry, design, and packaging development.

A particular focus lies on how economic conditions, regulation, and cultural differences directly impact the pet food sector – and what opportunities arise for international manufacturers, suppliers, and brands as a result.

At the same time, we will broaden the perspective further: What role do design and brand positioning play in markets such as Argentina, Brazil, or Mexico? How are supply chains and import structures changing? And where are new growth areas emerging that have so far received little attention?

The LATAM series is therefore not a finished report, but an evolving journey through a region in transition – analytical, practice-oriented, and aimed at making developments visible that might otherwise remain under the radar.

Stay tuned – it’s worth it.
